Google the email address of any new person you meet on dating sites

You never know what you will find!
Scambaiters and victims of scams also post details about scammers online.  The person you are in contact with may be fake, and have several complaints about them on the 'net, already.
Learn to use Google Image search!    It only takes seconds to check to see where else a picture appears online.   You can find the real name of the person of the picture, other social networks or dating site profiles using that picture, as well as scam reports involving that picture.
Please remember,  many scams use stolen pictures.  The person in the picture is often not involved in the scam.  YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY IN CONTACT WITH THE PERSON IN THAT PICTURE, BUT A CRIMINAL WHO ONLY CARES ABOUT STEALING MONEY FROM YOU!
Never send money!  Never.
People who are in danger do not ask strangers online for money.
People who are truly poor do not have money for the internet.

ALWAYS EXPECT TO SEE A FACE ON WEBCAM!
Do not accept a set of pictures as proof you are in contact with the person in those pictures.

Most of these internet romance scams are very simple.    You can avoid them if you open your eyes, and listen to people who are willing to help you.

Search anybody by name, e-mail address, phone number, online username or even friends in your address book and instantly return lots of info.
