There are certain truths that have sunk into my feeble brain over the years.


Most people on dating sites want fantasy, they are not looking for a real person, for a real relationship.

Even if a man is 90 years old, and confined to a wheelchair, if he signs up on international dating sites, he will message the youngest girls, with the biggest boobs in her pictures, in the most distant country, and expect her to show up on his doorstep.

The bigger the boobs in the profile pictures,  or in the pictures the 'girl' provides, the longer the man will stay in contact with her.  (Even if he suspects this is a scammer)

Anything a scammer tells them has to have some thread of truth, but everything somebody well versed in scams says, is suspect.

('Yes, she stole $20,000 from me, but I think she really loves me.  Maybe she is being forced to do this?")

Kids in third world countries have smartphones, and there are internet cafes everywhere, but supermodels and rich businessmen who travel, often find themselves in places there are no cams to show a face on.

Rich businessmen who travel the world, and have multiple lavish homes in various countries,  need to ask strangers for money when they encounter fake difficulties.


Sexy, young, attractive Russian ladies, who provide pictures of themselves 'out on the town', actually stay home at night, knitting with granny,.


Every Filipina girl is born with the desire to find a 65 year old Kano husband, online, when they turn 18.

People who money for the internet, and spend hours a day online, do not have money for food, and need your financial support.


Soldiers who are deployed to combat areas, can leave that area, and go on vacation to come meet you, if you send them money.   (This is why wars last so long, everybody is leaving all the time.)

People who are smart enough to steal millions of dollars, or earn millions of dollars, are not smart enough to figure out a way to hide it, or transfer it to another country, without the help of somebody they find on the internet.  (Who will be asked to pay 'fees'.)


Ladies who are 'too shy' to show a face on cam, are not 'too shy' to send you multiple pictures of them in provocative poses, or in scanty swimwear.

There is also some charity that sends poor girls to lavish resorts, or distant cities for tourism.
I know this is true, I've seen the pictures.

If you provide an internet dating site, which screens out 99% of the scammers, real people will not be interested.   They prefer the busier sites, full of fakes, perverts and scammers.

Your money is gone.   The girl is not real.  You may speak to an asian girl on the phone, but it is not the person in the pictures.   You were scammed.

Curious about 'Asian' internet romance scams?

The scams we see from Asia are a little different than the more common internet romance scams, from West Africa, and the Former Soviet Union.

You are more prone to see a real face with scams from the Philippines, although the ladies are getting a bit more cautious.

There are only two free dating sites I can recommend that are fairly safe, datingnmore.com, and asianlonelyhearts.com.
Most dating sites, free or otherwise, do not bother to do much checking of new profiles, or monitoring activity on the site. By 'monitoring' activity, I do not mean reading your messages, or spying, but there are usually ways to watch site activity without invading your privacy, and scammers do tend to operate in predictable ways, and usually exhibit some known traits.
Most of the knowledge a site operator needs to have to spot these scammers is pretty easily acquired. You just have to be interested in protecting your members, and operating a 'clean' site. Most dating sites don't do this.
Datingnmore.com is a large, free, safe dating site, owned and operated by a friend of mine, who is probably the leading expert in internet romance scams, in the world. The site is friendly, and has an extensive array of members from throughout the world.

So? You look at these two sites and think they are boring, and not as exciting as most dating sites? Do you realize you are used to typical CRAP found on dating sites? Fake profiles of half naked people. Stolen pictures of celebrities. Hundreds or thousands of profiles of people you try to contact, but never reply? ( they're fake profiles!)
Do you think PAYING for a site offers you some safety and value? It usually doesn't! The scammers operate on virtually every site, paid, or free.

Keep the age gap reasonable. Yes, you may know of an 80 year old man with a 20 year old Asian bride, but that combination usually doesn't last long or work out, and somebody usually ends up broke and unhappy. (and it's not the girl who was broke to start with)

Are you looking for a Chinese wife,online?

Chinese women are generally attractive, feminine, and age well, and there are many on online dating sites. For the purposes of this blog entry, I am only referring to ladies actually in China, not ladies in other countries, of Chinese race.
Many men have the fantasy of finding an asian 'mail order' bride. One who is younger, pretty, and generally submissive.
I'm afraid this fantasy has lead to the abuse of some asian ladies, as well as scams and fraud of the wife seeker.

Here are some of the real scams, fraud, and problems you face if you are seeking a 'Chinese' bride, online.

'Pay for Play' dating sites: sites that charge you for membership, and every communication with the lady, and restrict communication with the lady, to internal means, on the site. (For which you will be charged for...) Asianbeaties.com, and the various Chinalove sites are some examples of this type of site.
Do you realize many of the ladies are fake? Many men have paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to correspond with a beautiful lady, only to finally realize something isn't right.
You may even pay to chat with cam, or talk on the phone to a pretty lady, and often, that lady is fake, or somebody getting paid to talk to you. (To ring up more payments from you.)
These sites also depend on independent 'agencies', which may be a small office in a Chinese city, offering 'marriage broker' services to local ladies. Many of these agencies use fraud as a tool to make money as a marriage 'broker'. They'll post fake profiles of 'fake' ladies, and collect fees for the messages men send to her.
A common tactic for the agency that has some 'real' ladies, hoping to marry a western man, is a 'bait and switch' tactic.

They will post profiles of pretty girls on these dating sites, let the man believe he is in contact with that pretty lady, and urge him to come to China to meet her.
When he arrives to meet her, he is told 'she change her mind' and he is conveniently offered (usually) an older and less attractive lady, who is often tagging along with the 'agent' when she meets the man at the airport. (who is expecting to be met by the smiling cutie he has been writing love letters to for months, and has paid thousands of dollars to correspond with, and 'meet'.)

While there are probably some nice ladies using these agencies, who are serious about a real marriage with a nice man, there are also reports of men being introduced to virtual prostitutes, thieves, and gold-diggers, upon arrival.
So, you've paid a lot of money to correspond, and eventually meet this lady...does the money flow end?

OK, let's assume you have been lucky enough to meet the actual lady from the dating site you were emailing? It's fairly common for the prospective groom to be lead about town, on expensive shopping trips, with the lady accumulating a mountain of 'gifts'.
You'll have little personal discourse with her, but you will become very familiar with the more expensive shops in town.
You may be able to share a bed with her at night, but don't count on it.
Some of these ladies are actually married! In Russia and the Ukraine they are known as 'pro daters'.

You will also be presented with 'agency' or 'translator' fees, in addition to some demand for money or a large gift for the parents.

You may be coaxed to buy a house or apartment for the parents, or one for your future use, with your 'bride'. Guess what? The house will not be in your name, and you will have no ownership rights, or means of recourse, if/when the marriage or engagement falls through.

Another form of 'Fake' chinese lady, online, are the fake profiles set up by West African scammers, who live in China! Yes! The 'Nigerian' scammer most of us are familiar with, is present in China!

West Africans go to China for business and education opportunities, and some go intentionally to Scam. Many end up overstaying the easily obtained visas, and struggling to survive. Some end up doing internet scams.

Right now, we have a serious problem with West African scammers pulling romance scams, from within China, primarily the Guangdong province.

These scammers set up many profiles for 'Asian' ladies on dating sites, with a profile age of 28-35, usually residing in South China, (Primarily Shenzhen, or Guangzhou) working a low level or menial job, and have no children.
The fake single lady is usually Chinese, or Filipina, and is attractive. The pictures they use are stolen.
They will not show a face on cam, but sometimes will talk to the victim on the phone.
The lady is not the lady in the pictures, but a local girl paid to talk on the phone, or a girlfriend of the scammer.
They'll generally ask for 'visa and travel' money, and claim they are en route to meet the victim, and need money to make, or continue the trip.

Of course...nobody shows up. The girl is fake. The thousands of dollars the man has sent..is gone.

What if you manage to find a 'real' chinese lady, online, and maybe not from one of the 'problem' dating sites?

There still is a danger of a 'Green Card' scam...

Many Chinese still want to come to the USA, or other Western countries. They will pay $20-30,000 to be smuggled, or for 'fake' marriages to obtain residency or citizenship in a more affluent country. That is a lot of money for most people in China! Why not let some gullible man bring them there?

Please don't misunderstand me, I am not trying to paint all Chinese ladies as devious, plotting, and greedy. The situations I list are factual.
I list these problems with hope you avoid these scammers, and find a real, decent, Chinese woman, if that is what you are seeking.

How do I avoid these scams?

Never send money to somebody you know online, or via phone calls. This includes buying plane tickets, or paying for emergencies. NEVER.

Demand to see a face on webcam, and often. If they won't comply, something is wrong, no matter what excuse they give you. Dump them.

Avoid 'paid' dating sites, or any dating site you are restricted to communicating with the lady, using internal site methods. 'Pay for message' is a dead end, and fraught with fraud. The fees you pay provide a good income to the site, as well as crooked people, and fraudulent agencies.

Research the city and area she lives in, and are you really willing and able to go meet her?

Flush whatever misconceptions or fantasies you have about 'mail order brides' out of your mind.

No lady you meet online, and send money to, is likely to show up on your doorstep.
Familiarize yourself with the real visa procedures for your country. Scammers often use preposterous to impossible methods they claim will get them to your country...unrealistic methods, time frames, and sometimes even they will provide a link to a totally fake 'visa and travel' website....they set up!

Learn how to search images via Google. Many scammers use stolen pictures, often of Asian celebrities. They also re-use pictures, and there may be a scam report with this picture, online, already.
Google the email address!!!! Very important! Yes, the scammers often create new email addresses, but it's also common for them to use the same email address for months. There may be a report online about that email address being used in a scam.

Keep the age gap reasonable. For china, 10-15 years is the max.

Communicating with a lady who does not speak any english sets you up for problems. If she is not able to communicate now, and not willing to learn, you face some real problems. Many ladies in China know some english, are willing and capable of learning.
Do not send money for 'english lessons'. Meet the lady first. There are often free or inexpensive 'English' lessons available in China. English is important in China, for business, and is the gateway to higher pay and good jobs.

Please be aware that real, middle-aged Chinese ladies you meet online are also plagued with scammers, a lot of game players, and perverts.
When you meet a real one online, be patient, honest, and polite.
You may need to ask politely several times, and build some trust, before she shows a face on cam, but please, don't let this trust period extend beyond a few chats or emails.

2xlove.com appears to be a new iteration of the interlingvo/gagamatch network of fraudulent dating sites. I recently had a 'chinese' lady contact my baiting profile, who used stolen pictures of a chinese celebrity. 'She' directed me to 2xlove.com, for the purpose of translating messages. This is typical of the interlingvo/gagamatch 'employees' (Or contractors) who prowl dating sites, to recruit victims to send to the FRAUDULENT dating sites, where they will be charged money, for messages, from and to, FAKE ladies. Don't be a sucker! Keep away, and never pay for messages on a site, or 'on site' translations.

So you think she is 'hot'? So does her husband! She is not single, and online looking for an elderly western man to marry! Don't be a sucker!

Lilydating.com More fraud than initially imagined

Guys, I have been to China several times, and was married to a Chinese lady. Young Chinese 'hotties' do not look for old men online, as they do in some other Asian countries.

Lilydating.com is a paid Chinese operated dating site, which has a high percentage of female profiles using stolen model pictures. Lilydating.com also recruits members by spamming men on other dating sites, and requesting they join the paid site to communicate with the pretty woman, in the stolen picture they will send to the man. There is a network of large, fraudulent dating sites that operates the same way, and lilydating may be part of this network, and a new incarnation of this network. Guys, my best guess is you are not in contact with the pretty girls in the pictures, no matter how much you pay for membership, or contact privileges Never pay for 'in house' translation on a dating site. If 'she' can't speak your language, what real chances do you have for a relationship, and there are many fraudulent sites built upon YOUR willingness to be defrauded, and your ignorance. The source of many Asian model pictures are easily found, using various image search engines. Please, do not accept pictures as proof you are in contact with the person, in those pictures. So you're looking for a Chinese bride online? Warning

There are the normal scams involved in online dating with Chinese ladies, as well as some unique quirks, or problems.

There is a large number of West African scammers living and working in China, particularily South China, and most commonly the Guangdong province.    They register on dating sites and pretend to be white or asian, men and women, with the intention to scam members of that site.

There are no free lunches available on the internet.   The hot young girl you meet online is not going to magically arrive at on your doorstep to hump  your middle-aged or older, bones into eternity, when you send her money.    If you have a 'chinese' lady who is more than 15-20 years younger than you are, interested in you.  Be suspicious.  The Chinese generally adhere to a fairly firm age gap.

Single, normal ladies from Asia usually can't get tourist visas to Western countries, no matter what they tell you online.   (Don't send money fro visa and travel expenses)

There are webcams, everywhere.  In most internet cafes, on most laptops now.  There is always one 'somewhere'.   Do not accept 'sorry,no webcam'.   You need to see 'that face' on cam, and more than once.   Even if you see 'that face' on cam, don't send money!

China has an active network of marriage agencies, or 'translator/brokers'.   You may email or chat with a lady for months, and actually be in contact with an agency or translator/broker.
You may arrive in China to meet the lady who has written the gushing emails, to find she speaks no english, doesn't exist, or only was shown your picture by the agent or translator who has actually been writing the emails, an hour ago.

Beware of Interlingvo/gagamatch dating sites.   These are a network of fraudulent dating sites that only exist to make money by charging men for translations of fake emails, from fake Chinese 'hotties'.   The girls are all fake, many of the pictures are of celebrities and models.
Don't be an idiot.  Men have spent thousands of dollars before they wised up. 

Are you really willing to go to China to meet a nice lady, if you bump into a real one, online?
Research the culture a bit.


If you meet a real Chinese lady, particularily one of modest means, she may be helping to support her parents.  
Are you willing to accept this responsibility if you marry her? 
Many western men are willingly taken advantage of by these 'support' situations, and the support ends up dramatically increasing the lifestyle of the parents and family, or providing a hidden nest egg fot the bride, if the marriage fails, or she bails out at a pre-determined point.
  How much was the lady providing to the parents, and how much is she asking you to provide?
  The difference in amounts can be an eye opener.

Look at some of the larger, paid dating sites for Chinese ladies.     Do a search for Chinese ladies in your country.  If you get a chance to talk to them, you'll notice a high percentage of them do not speak or write the language of the country they came to as a bride, and divorced as soon as they could leave the husband who brought them there, and still stay in that country.
Sadly, many I talked to in the US, were having difficulty surviving with little language skills, but were reluctant to go home to China.    I'm not saying all Chinese ladies intend to bail out of the marriage as soon as they obtain residency in the new country, but many do.
Be careful.   Yes, many of the marriages fail for normal reasons, the guy can be a jerk, or they just don't get along.

PAID dating sites do not offer much more safety or security.   There are many scammers on PAID dating sites.    I'm currently working on a project with several other scambaiters where we are baiting on PAID dating sites.   I'm amazed at how you get very little for your money in the way of safety from scammers.   This is inexcusable. 

   There is help.   You really need to do your homework, and keep your emotions in check when searching for a bride, online.    I strongly suggest you read the information at http://www.dragonladies.org/

Chineselovelinks.com Warning

It's unusual that I have the chance to 'scambait' on a paid dating site, but thanks to a member of the forum at Dragonladies.org, I've had a chance to use a paid membership at Chineselovelinks for the last few weeks.
 What I've found confirmed what I knew, that paid sites are not much, if at all, safer than free dating sites, but we have been a little alarmed at the sophistication of some of the scammers we have found at Chineselovelinks.
  It's rare this happens.   Many victims of scams think the scammer who robbed them is a mastermind, or criminal genius.   They rarely are.    I'm not saying the scammers we are running into at chineselovelinks are drastically more advanced than the scammer we are very familiar with, but some of them seem to much more adept at hiding who they actually are.

  Be careful!

Most of the scammers we are finding on chineselovelinks are West African, both in West African countries, and those operating from Asian countries.

    Never send money to somebody you only know from the internet!  NEVER.

   You should demand to see the face of that pretty girl ON CAM, and not once, but several times.  You should also watch to see the lighting, clothing, time of day, or background are different, and request she make some specific movement or gesture on cam, at your request.

 Use tineye.com or Google image search to see if the pictures are stolen, and that of a celebrity of some sort.

    Please remember, most ladies in China can't get a tourist visa to western countries.   If a lady asks for financial help for visa or travel fees to come meet you, it's a scam.
 
   Do not give out your full real name, phone number, address, and preferably use a new email address when you register and use dating sites.   Do not use an email address you use for work, friends, or family.....create a new, 'disposable' one.

This is another 'Interlingvo' dating site, translation scam.   Somebody, pretending to be the woman in this picture, registers at many dating sites, and contacts men.
They will claim they are poor in English, and need you to communicate with them via a different, PAID site, which offers translations.
This is a scam!
The 'Interlingvo' sites, also including GAGAMATCH, are fraudulent.
They only exist to charge you money with fake ladies!
